JOB SEARCH TIPS
If you’re tired of the rat race, it could very well be that you may need to chart a course that’s a different route from what you’ve traditionally taken. Of course, it’s always easier to tread the path of the familiar, especially if you’ve been in a certain profession for a considerable amount of time. But did you know that there are many industries that you could endeavor in that will allow you to transfer the skills that you already have. For instance, if you have good customer service skills, they could easily be applied in the healthcare related and public safety arenas. More specifically, you can combine your customer service skills and your typing skills (if you have them) and use them very well in either of these two arenas via data entry. One of the biggest challenges of employment transition is being able to identify how your skills can be applied to industries other than the one you’ve come out of. To that end, why not take an inventory of your skills? Are you good at typing, filing, planning, organizing, customer service, special projects, coordinating people and things, etc.? What is it that you do that you probably thought was insignificant? Never underestimate because that one ability may be the one that will take you places Remember to:
