Volunteer Your Time

Volunteers are needed fro special programs at special times of the year.  To name a few, they include, but are not limited to:

  • Food Distribution -  FACAA's TEFAP program which administers food to over 9.000 families per quarter under the U.S. D. A.
  • GED Assistants:   Help with tutoring students who are preparing for testing
  • Life Skills Courses:    We need teachers who can instruct on topics such as budgeting, parenting skills, nutrition, family education, prevention of substance abuse, etc.
  • Gift - Raising:   Gifts for Seniors at Christmas Time.  Collecting small items that satisfy even the most particular senior citizen is greatly needed to enliven the isolated, homebound senior citizen during the holiday season each year.  You or your church can help us help them!

If you want to help, become a FACAA volunteer!  Whether a part of a group or on your own, someone will be essentially, better off because of you!

Community Partners

Learn how to partner with us.  We are open to community groups that wish to convene classes and meetings in the Community Empowerment and Resource Center, located at 341 Kelly Street, SE.   FACAA seeks to reach out to smaller organizations which can benefit from mutual needs. If you wish to know more about this opportunity, contact Mrs. Thomas at 404-320-0116 ext. 209.

Advocacy                                                                                                                             The Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority relies on the community of need to express itself when matters that affect them arise.  The Community Action Councils of FACAA meet monthly to discuss the needs of communities all over ATlanta.  Their main purpose is to serve as a voice for the poor in areas such as givernment, politics and public service.  Find out about the meetings of the Community Action Councils and become a part of this advisory component and voice for FACAA.
